🌴 Cooper Island Beach Club: A New & Easier Way to Pay for First-Come, First-Serve Moorings

There are few places in the BVI more loved than Cooper Island Beach Club—the turquoise water, the snorkeling, the eco-friendly vibe, the perfect rum bar sunset… it’s a favorite stop for so many charter guests each season.

This year, we’re excited to roll out a new, easier system for paying for the first-come, first-served (FCFS) moorings at Cooper Island, designed to make the experience smoother for boaters and more sustainable for the local businesses who maintain the moorings.

⸻

âš“ A Simple Change That Helps Everyone

BoatyBall members have always been able to pay for FCFS moorings through the BoatyBall app at boater.boatyball.com.

This season, we’ve added something new to make things even easier:

👉 QR Codes Right on the Mooring Balls

You’ll now see BoatyBall QR codes on Cooper Island’s FCFS moorings. Just scan the code, and you’ll be taken directly to the payment page on the BoatyBall application.

No searching, no typing—just scan, tap, and you’re set.

🆓 Yes, You Can Still Use BoatyBall for Free

To pay for FCFS moorings, boaters simply need to set up a free BoatyBall account at boater.boatyball.com.

This will remain true even when the new paid BoatyBall membership launches. Free accounts will always be able to pay for FCFS moorings.

•	Free account: Pay for FCFS moorings
•	Paid membership (optional): Unlock the ability to reserve moorings in advance

But the free membership comes with something else incredibly useful…

⸻

📱 Free Members Also Get Access to the BoatyAlarm App

Another great reason to set up a free BoatyBall account is access to the BoatyAlarm app, available in both the Apple App Store and Google Play.

We strongly encourage every boater—whether at anchor or on a mooring—to use an anchor alarm for peace of mind. BoatyAlarm makes it effortless:

•	Over 600 moorings in the BVI already mapped for your convenience
•	Simple location tracking
•	Alerts if you drift outside your safe zone
•	Designed specifically for BVI charterers

If you’re moored at Cooper Island, Great Harbour, Cane Garden Bay, Leverick Bay, or any of the other popular anchorages, BoatyAlarm helps ensure you sleep soundly.

It’s one more helpful tool included with your free BoatyBall membership, and another reason to take 30 seconds to create an account.

đź’™ Why Paying Online Matters

Here’s something many visitors don’t realize:

Unpaid FCFS moorings hurt the local businesses who maintain them.

Places like Cooper Island Beach Club invest heavily each year in:

•	Maintaining and inspecting moorings
•	Replacing worn tackle
•	Ensuring mooring fields remain safe
•	Improving facilities for visiting boaters

When moorings go unpaid, these small businesses lose revenue they depend on to keep the field operational. And ultimately, that affects all of us.

Your payment directly supports:

•	The businesses you love
•	The safety of the mooring field
•	The availability of moorings for future visitors
•	The long-term health of our beautiful islands

It’s a small step that makes a big difference.

⸻

🙋‍♂️ But What If You Don’t Want to Share Your Email?

We understand—really. If you prefer not to receive emails, you have two easy options:

âś” Unsubscribe from any BoatyBall emails

âś” Or email support@boatyball.com and we will delete your information after your trip

We’re here to make your vacation smooth—not fill your inbox.

⸻

đź’µ Prefer Paying in Person? No Problem

If you’re not able to pay online, Cooper Island Beach Club kindly asks:

•	Pay the mooring attendant when they come by, or
•	Stop by the bar and settle up

This is true across the entire BVI—all bays and all moorings depend on boaters paying their nightly fee to keep the fields safe and available.

⸻

🌟 A Positive Step for the Islands We Love

This new QR-assisted system isn’t about rules or enforcement—it’s about making it easy for boaters to support the islands we all love exploring.

By paying for FCFS moorings and using tools like BoatyAlarm, you help ensure that:

•	Moorings stay safe
•	Maintenance gets done
•	Local businesses thrive
•	Your boat (and every boat around you) stays secure
•	The BVI remains one of the world’s best cruising grounds

Thank you for doing your part. Thank you for supporting Cooper Island. And thank you for being part of the BoatyBall crew.
